As part of what we offer at Centre Stage all students are invited to take exams in all three aspects of the performing arts.

IDTA Exams
We offer freestyle IDTA exams at all of our centres. Freestyle is a type of dance, similar to pop / street dance. It is a high energy dance performed to popular music. Grades are associated with colours, starting at bronze and working up to gold  and gold 2 exams. Students normally start at bronze1 and will work their way up to gold. IDTA exams are always taken as part of a group and students can opt to either take a team exam, or a solo exam. Team exams are marked based on a combined effort from students and for solo exams students are marked individually. IDTA exams range from £11 to around £30 - depending on what grade is taken and whether or not it is a team or solo exam. Students learn routines together within lass time and students who wish to take the exam will need to attend a specially arrange session when the examiner will attend.

Lamda Exams
Lamda exams can be taken in many different subjects such as acting, speech, musical theatre, verse and prose, mime and poetry. Students are encouraged to take Lamda exams as not only are they a great way to mark  achievement and raise confidence, but when students reach some of the higher grades UCAS points can be awarded contributing to the score that depicts whether or not a child will be accepted into University. Lamda do require a lot of work and often students are asked to arrange private lessons outside of CSTA with our tutors.
