Welcome to Centre Stage Theatre Arts – Celebrating 30 Years of Creativity, Community, and Performance Excellence!
At Centre Stage Theatre Arts (CSTA), we’ve been bringing the magic of the stage to life for three incredible decades. Located in the vibrant communities of Darley Abbey and Chellaston, we offer a warm, inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to shine. Whether you’re a budding performer or simply looking for a creative outlet, our dance, drama, and singing classes are designed to inspire and nurture talent at every age and skill level.
Where Stars Are Born
Our weekly sessions are an exciting blend of drama, singing, and dance, carefully tailored to suit each age group.
From the youngest beginners to our advanced performers, every student is placed in a group where they can thrive, learn, and grow together.
But the magic doesn’t stop at weekly classes. Over the course of the academic year, our students dive into at least one full musical production, take part in engaging workshops, and work towards performance examinations. Each lesson is crafted to develop skills, build confidence, and, most importantly, to have fun!
Taking the Spotlight
The highlight of our work at CSTA is undoubtedly our spectacular, full-scale theatrical performances.
These shows are where all the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our students truly shine. From elaborate sets to stunning costumes, each production is a community event that brings families, friends, and neighbours together in celebration of our students’ talents.
Minis
Age 4 - 6 Years
Our Minis group is all about building confidence, having fun, and introducing little ones to the world of performing arts. Through playful games, singing, and dance, children start to develop their creativity and self-expression. Each session encourages teamwork and imagination, and they work towards their first small performances in a friendly, supportive environment.
Juniors
Age 7 - 10 Years
In the Juniors group, children dive deeper into the world of theatre, singing, and dance. They begin to learn more structured techniques while continuing to develop their performance skills. As they progress, they work on larger productions, giving them the chance to shine on stage in full-scale performances. This group also introduces them to performance exams, helping them build valuable skills for the future.
Intermediates
Age 11 - 13 Years
Our Intermediates are growing into more confident performers, learning more advanced acting, singing, and dance techniques. They start working on more challenging material and play a bigger role in our productions. At this stage, they are encouraged to focus on individual strengths while still building on teamwork and performance confidence. This group prepares students for auditions and more advanced exams.
Seniors
Age 14+
In the Seniors group, students take their performance skills to the next level. This is where everything comes together, from advanced acting methods to powerful vocal performances and dynamic dance routines. Seniors are heavily involved in our full-scale productions and are often preparing for auditions, exams, and even professional opportunities. These sessions are designed to refine their skills and prepare them for future careers in the arts or simply for the joy of performing at a high level.
